The Red Kite Learning Trust IT Services team specialise in supporting technology within education.

Our vision is to deliver cutting edge solutions to the classroom making them more manageable and productive, alleviating the daily stress and strains of technical issues and supporting the best possible outcomes for the 8500 young people in our care.

Recent successes include:

• Migrating all 13 schools to a single Internet Service Provider, including centralised firewall and filtering software.
• Migrating all 13 schools on to a single network infrastructure which can be centrally managed, is replicated in two server ‘farms’ and backed up at a third location. This provides resilience for our service, ensuring business continuity, enhances our data security and reduces I.T. support and running  across the Trust.
• The Trust has a single Office 365 tenancy which brings huge benefits in working together to share best practice, communications and data analysis. SharePoint, Teams and PowerBi are all used to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of teaching and administrative resources. This solution also simplifies the ‘onboarding’ of new schools to our network.
• A major success has been the iPad For Learning schemes in operation at Harrogate Grammar School, running since 2011, this provides over 2,000 iPads for individual use. More recently Western Primary School has established a successful 1:1 iPad scheme and in 2020 was awarded the prestigious ‘Apple Distinguished School’ status. This provision is managed through our IT Services team.

All developments are focused on providing the best learning experiences for our students. This is overseen by the I.T. Strategy Group and the eLearning Leadership team to ensure all schools are represented and best served.

In addition, the team can assist and advise in the procurement of a range of IT related products including:

• Desktops, laptops and tablet computers (including iPad/Surface)
• Classroom and office peripherals (including projectors and Interactive Displays)
• Wired and wireless network infrastructure
• Software Licencing
