Service Pupils

A significant number of children at Saltergate belong to a service family. We are here to help and support families who are transferring to the area, often at short notice.

Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can work with you to enable your children to settle into life at Saltergate.

We have a newly established group for the children in KS2 to meet together with a Community Development Worker from the Army Foundation College. We are also looking for further ways to work with the College to build links for the benefit of our service children. Miss. Suttle, our Inclusion Worker, is involved with this in her role.

We work to be an inclusive school where our teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all our pupils. We recognise that children from service families may need extra support and nurture, and because we know our pupils well, we can put this in place effectively, helping pupils to feel safe and secure.
