Apprenticeships with Red Kite Learning Trust
We are delighted to offer a range of apprenticeships designed to develop the skills required for a successful career in education. An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. Each apprenticeship has a level and an equivalent education level and you can start an apprenticeship at any level. At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll achieve the equivalent education level. For example, if you complete a level 3 apprenticeship, you’ll achieve the equivalent of an A level.

My apprenticeship at our trust has given me the best possible professional grounding and progression I could have asked for. It is important to achieve qualifications in your field but the most important part of the apprenticeship is the experience and character development it gives you. You build both knowledge and experience from the ground up which gives you the ability to take on as much as you want to learn. I have had the opportunity to work with an incredible team, be mentored by my colleagues, and learn how to be an independent worker. Without the apprenticeship at our trust, I wouldn’t have had the experience, skills, or character that has allowed me to progress to the Deputy IT Manager position I am in today.

I have recently completed a Team Leader Apprenticeship with the National College of Education. The 12-month programme consisted of 6 training days led by inspirational speakers, 6 assignments, a weekly learning journal and regular review points. The course was very practical, providing theories and strategies ready to implement immediately. The weekly journal provided an opportunity to reflect on the knowledge, skills and behaviours that I was developing and monitor my progress. I felt supported throughout the course with regular reviews with my Professional Learning Mentor at NCE and my line manager. I have finished the course feeling more confident and proud of what I have achieved.

My experience as an apprentice with Red Kite Learning Trust has been a really positive adventure, I’ve not just had support within my apprenticeship as I have also had support to develop other areas that have helped my progression within the trust go much further allowing be to expand my role and continually improve myself. I look forward to continuing my work at Red Kite Learning Trust and progressing further within the trust.
Kaplan has been an exceptional provider in my learning, they would always offer help and support when needed for my exams, I hope to continue my learning with them in the future.

To become an apprentice, you must meet the following criteria:
- be over 16
- not already be in full time education
- live in England
You can start an apprenticeship with Red Kite Learning Trust whether you are starting your career, seeking a change or you are looking to develop your skills in a particular area. You can have a previous qualification like a degree and still start an apprenticeship with Red Kite Learning Trust.
As an apprentice you will:
- learn and train for a specific job
- get paid and receive holiday leave
- get hands-on experience in a real job
- study for at least 20% of your working hours
- complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
- be on a career path with lots of future potential.
