RED Award_LOGO white_RK1Red Award

Rossett Acre Primary School and Harrogate Grammar School have both been awarded the Red Kite Alliance RED Award recognising the schools’ culture of inclusion.

The Red Kite Alliance RED Award has been developed to support schools to review, strengthen and celebrate their provision in terms of equality, diversity, respect for individuals and community cohesion.

All our Trust schools have made this pledge and are actively working towards this award. Congratulations to Rossett Acre Primary School for being the first of our Trust schools to achieve this important accolade.

Religious Education Visits

Primary pupils at Temple Learning Academy take part in a number of Religious Education visits to places of worship. Reception children visited Corpus Christ Church. Year 2 pupils visited a mosque and learnt more about the Muslim religion. Year 3 pupils visited a local Gurdwara and had a fantastic time learning about the Sikh religion. The children were well and truly full after their visit to the Langar, the community kitchen and a part of the Sikh faith that offers free vegetarian food to anyone who comes to a Gurdwara (a Sikh temple).

Rossett RLGBTQ+ Support Group

Rossett School’s LGBTQ+ Group is an active team of students who raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues to the wider school community and fundraise for LGBTQ+ charities, such as Stonewall. Mr Elcock runs a weekly LGBTQ+ drop-in sessions for students to meet their peers and discuss issues relevant to them. This impressive group of students have led assemblies and produced resources for Personal Development lessons. They fulfil an important role, promoting inclusion and wider understanding to the whole Rossett community.
