AfPE Quality Mark in Physical Education
The PE Department at Crawshaw Academy continues to be a beacon following the re accrediation of AfPEs Quality Mark in Physical Education. Not only have both teams and individuals excelled in extra-curricular activities but the sports leaders have continued to run activities for the local primary schools in conjunction with the Leeds Rhinos Foundation as well as running the West Leeds Primary Olympics at John Charles Centre for Sport. One of the highlights of the year was the Year 11 Rugby League team beating Ralph Thoresby in the final of the Leeds and Hunslet Cup Final.

Cricket Success
The talented Year 5/6 cricket team at Oatlands Junior School have enjoyed an incredible journey of competitions this season. Winners of the Harrogate area; through to the North Yorkshire country final - winners again (only losing one game); and competing in the Yorkshire grand final, undefeated in all games! Their sportsmanship was outstanding, too. Special mention to Miss Fran Bakes for all her top coaching and preparation; Mr Drew Morley for accompanying the boys to the finals and all the children's parents who have been brilliant supporters.
Football Champions
Harrogate Grammar School’s U16 Boys Football Team were crowned County Champions after winning the cup final against St Aidan’s Church of England High School, held at Queen Ethelburga’s School in May.
Football Club
Three Year 5 pupils at Coppice Valley Primary School led a Football Club for younger children in their school as they worked towards achieving their Coppice Gold Award. They planned and resourced the sessions and aimed the games at those children who were new to football and wanting to try it. They demonstrated impressive leadership skills, with excellent inclusivity and guidance shown by all.
Rounders Competition
A team of Temple Moor High School Year 8 girls took part in a Rounders Tournament in May, held at Roundhay School, in Leeds. The won 3 out of 4 of their games and showed a great competitive spirit and good sportsmanship.
