Each of our schools has two representatives, led by a Chair for Primaries and a Chair for Secondaries. The board get together every half term to share ideas and initiatives, and to discuss topics and issues that are important to them. They have the opportunity to meet at our Central Team office as well as visit the different schools in our Trust.
Their thoughts and suggestions are fed back to their schools and presented to our Trustees and Leaders, helping to shape the way we work together as a Trust and allowing them to make a real difference.
It’s a great way for young people to have their voices heard and make positive changes in our school communities.
This year the Youth Board have discussed sustainability, food wastage, inclusivity and environmental concerns on schools and their local communities. There has been much debate on the challenges faced by our young people regarding attendance, mental health and well-being and how they learn and feel supported with their learning.
The Youth Board has been instrumental in shaping our Trust’s vision for 2030, they were highly committed to this important work and put forward many ideas.
