Improving Recruitment and Retention

In response to the ongoing recruitment and retention challenges facing the education sector, we’ve implemented a clear and focused strategy to strengthen our approach across Red Kite Learning Trust.

A key part of this has been moving to My New Term, a modern recruitment platform tailored to education. This shift has significantly improved the candidate journey with a simplified application process, better access to wider networks, and tools that help us match candidates to roles across our Trust.

As a result, we’ve seen a rise in application numbers, fewer outstanding vacancies, and an overall improvement in the quality of candidates. The platform also supports our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion by giving us valuable insights to monitor and strengthen our recruitment framework.

To further enhance the candidate and employee experience, we’ve developed centralised recruitment resources, including consistent job descriptions, streamlined induction materials, and improved new starter processes that reflect our Trust values and offer.

Looking ahead, we’re investing in social media and centralised expertise to support schools with capacity and drive further improvements.
