PB himself is made from recycled materials found in and around school and is filled with in excess of 1000 bottle tops. He holds a broken globe - also saved from being destined for land-fill.
PB was designed and created by a group of 12 pupils aged between 5-11 and under the watchful eyes of a small team of staff.
PB now stands at the entrance to our school, where we hope he provokes thought, inspires discussion and encourages everyone within our community to reduce, recycle and re-use their single use plastic. A huge thank you to Mrs Ullyart, Mr Mason, Mrs Dean, Mrs Briggs and Mrs Dawson and the whole green team for this amazing sculpture!
PB has been entered into a national competition to raise awareness of plastic pollution—whether he wins or not, I think it is an incredible achievement.
