On Friday 7th June, our first Red Kite Learning Trust Olympics took place. Teams of Year 5 and 6 pupils from across our 10 Trust primary schools came together to take part in a fun event, competing in a number of sporting activities.
The event was hosted by Harrogate Grammar School and organised by Director of Sport, Mr Tom Ryder, and the Harrogate Grammar school PE department.

The fun packed day was split into three main parts, as follows:
There was some good natured but determined competition between the teams but at the end of the day it was Oatlands Junior School who took away the trophy.
The Red Kite Learning Trust Olympics was conceived in response to requests from our Youth Board for us to organise more events that bring our school communities together, and we were only too happy the oblige! It was a great day enjoyed by all and the rain even held off for it!
Our special thanks go to Harrogate Grammar School for hosting, to its PE department for making it such an enjoyable event and to the student Sports Leaders who helped out.
Congratulations to the winners, Oatlands Junior School, and to all who took part. We look forward to next year to see if Oatlands Junior can maintain the title or whether a new school will be victorious!
